Liverpool’s Dutch head coach Arne Slots is please with a good start, winning five of his first six Premier League games, but his lead at the top is still not measurable.
Slots just led Liverpool to a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday, allowing the Reds to overtake Manchester City to lead the table after the first 6 games.
However, the Dutch coach is only interest in the team’s performance and results, and does not give much importance to leading the table because it is only the beginning of the season.
Slot’s side have 15 points from six league games, one point more than reigning champions Manchester City and the 2023-24 season’s runners-up Arsenal.
The win at the Molineux was the latest in a string of solid results for Liverpool, who defeated AC Milan 3-1 in the Champions League, beat Bournemouth 3-0 in the league and then crushed West Ham United 5-1 in a League Cup third-round tie.
“Everyone is very realistic. All the players understand that playing six games this season doesn’t give you a realistic view of the table.”
“Like if you go through 19 games, you’ll have a better sense of where we are.”
“But if you have good results, it helps a lot, especially when you have a new manager and you succeed a successful manager.”
“Everyone understands that if we had lost four UFABET or five of the first six games, our lives would have been different than they are now,” Slot said.
